China: web users grow by a third.

About 132 million Chinese people use the internet, during 2006 china’s internet population increased with one third strengthening its position as one of the most powerful internet economies in the world. The number of people accessing the web on high-speed broadband connections also rose rapidly to 52 million.  1.3 billion People live in China and despite this astronomical population number the growth of web users reached 30% in just 12 months, a sign of an amazing development and economic advance.

 

China comes after the United States concerning internet users; it has got the second-largest population of web users. In the U.S.A the number reach 207 million citizens online. Internet cafes are also very famous and wide spread in china, making internet accessible even to ordinary Chinese people. This phenomenal growth is due to the economic boom china knew during the latest years at all levels and any field.

 More than one billion persons use the net in all over the world, at the top come the United States and Europe with 308 million web-users across 50 countries. But the internet industry is starting to tail off in western. Internet is used in china for different purposes but the authorities refused let Chinese people chat between each others and have access to websites they can visit from china, there is a concern about a probable censorship, but human rights campaigners demonstrate against such restrictions and allow Chinese being free in front of their screen.
