ETA talks suspended by Zapatero.

The peace process is in a real crisis in Spain, after the Basque separatist movement ETA confirmed it carried out the car bombing in Barajas airport of Madrid, the Spanish prime Minster Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero decided to put an end to the dialogue and stop talks with the movement, thus a ceasefire of nine months ended. Two people were still missing hours after the explosion and about 26 others were injured, the Spanish media reported that 500kgs of explosives were used in the attack.

 

Luis Zapatero said the current blast are the prove there can be no dialogue, since the Basque organization did not respect the conditions of the ceasefire, and didn’t full fill either the human respect rules, he consequently ordered to suspend any initiative to develop dialogue with ETA. The prime minister added that the first and most important condition to resume talks is definitely to abandon violence acts; moreover the way taken by ETA leads nowhere, violence has never been a way out to any crisis the minister said.

 Zapatero came to take charge of the events and cut a short family holiday. The Basque movement was warning about the crisis and the weakness of the cease fire, saying that no efforts had been made by the Spanish government to maintain peace.
