A « terrorist » sentenced to 15 years.

The attacks of September, 11^th on the twin towers in the world trade centre at the heart of New York “Manhattan” are still looking for their criminals. After Zakarias Moussaoui and his unfair trial, other suspects came on the list such as the Moroccan man named Mounir el-Motassadeq is charged of being a complice of hijackers in the killing of 246 onboard a commercial plane used in the terrorist attack on passengers.

 

A German court on Monday sentenced him to 15 years in prison. Mounir is believed to be a potentially decisive milestone in a complex and politically delicate case that has wended its way through the German courts for five years. German justice was not that sure of itself towards the Moroccan man, if he was lately accused to play a direct role in the attacks of September, 11^th he was charged in 2005 of belonging to a terrorist organization and was sentenced to seven years in jail.

 The president of Hamburg court Carsten Beckman said last Monday it was a stiffest possible sentence under the criminal guidelines, he meant the court was not harsh with him if regarding his acts, while he precised the violence and inhumanity of the crime. The lawyer of Motassadeq said he would appeal the European court of human rights or demands a third “fair” trial with new evidence.
